Dr. Jodi Senk
Dr. Jodi Senk is an energetic leader, published author, and international presenter as well as a higher educational professional and a recognized health and fitness expert with over 20 years of experience. Dr. Senk is currently a professor in the Kinesiology, Dance, and Athletics Division at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, CA and coordinates online education for the college. Additionally, she was an educational center administrator, providing visionary leadership to increase enrollment, supervision, and facility oversight for all operations, staff development, resource management, scheduling, needs assessment and analysis, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Dr. Senk has had other diverse work experiences, including The Traveler’s Insurance, USC School of Medicine, Saint John’s Health Center, and has provided executive training for CEOs from companies such as Spelling Productions, RKO Pictures, and The Hearst Foundation.
Her leadership skills include using her collaborative, coaching, and authentic leadership styles to be proactive, build and leverage relationships, and to include colleagues in decisions. In her years of experience in leadership roles, Dr. Senk has a strong intuitive understanding of team cohesion, dynamics, and interpersonal relations to build and lead teams by developing a strong foundation based on trust, transparency, and communication.
Dr. Senk obtained her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University, with training in areas such as law and dispute resolution, ethics, problem-solving, research, e-learning, organizational behavior, policy development, change management, and strategic planning. She earned both a Master of Arts in Education and Sport Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Senk also has experience as a Division I athlete, possessing a competitive spirit and winning attitude from being a member of the nationally ranked Big East Champion softball teams.
Her hobbies include music, theater, and cooking, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing, skiing, yoga, pilates, biking, and running, completing 12 half-marathons as well as the 2010 Los Angeles Marathon. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their two dogs (Kia and Monty), and friends and family.
Thomas McCluskey
Tom McCluskey is currently a business Professor at Pepperdine University, UCLA’s Department of Economics, UCLA Extension, UC Irvine Extension and Santa Monica College.
Tom is a recognized expert in Virtual Workplace Leadership and Competence. He works as a consultant with various organizations on improving their virtual workplace competency. He draws on his effective teaching techniques and years of experience in managing virtual organizations and teams to help his clients understand the nuances of the virtual environment. He has presented on Virtual Workplace Competency at the Hawaii International Conference on Education. Tom has also presented on the state of Global Entrepreneurship at the International Center for Global Leadership’s annual conference in Belize. His findings have been published. Tom has also served as a panelist discussing Mentorship of Female Entrepreneurs at the 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference in Los Angeles. Tom has published a series of 23 business advice articles for small business owners and entrepreneurs on Docstoc.com.
Tom has worked as Business Advisor at the Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Center where he counseled entrepreneurs, business owners and leaders on best practices to sustain and expand their organizations.
Tom has over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, sales management and media sales. Prior to working at the Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation, Tom was the President of 551 Productions. He was previously the Vice President/Publisher of Biography Magazine and had worked at Time Warner, Gannett and Rodale Press.
Tom holds an MS in Management and Leadership from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management as well as a BA in Broadcast Journalism and English from the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California.
